Obvious from the chart is that marriages in 1970 and 1980 rank the highest, while the 2000 turned out to be the lowest. The figures indicates that there is an decreasing tendency of marriages in USA. But the divorce rates is different. In 1980, the divorce rates accounts for 2.5 million, ranks the first, and the other years remains the same.
According to the statistics shown in the second chart, from 1970 to 2000, the number of married people is deceasing, but the never-married people and divorced people are becoming more and more. Also, it must be pointed out that widowed people is decreasing too.
In conclusion, as the falling number of marriages, the never-married people are slightly growing, as well as the divorced people. We can see that American marital status has been changed a lot.
