"No. Heaven knows what the objects of his studies are. But here we are, and you must form your own impressions about
him." As he spoke, we turned down a narrow lane and passed through a small side-door, which opened into a wing of the
great hospital. It was familiar ground to me,and I needed no guiding as we ascended the bleak stone staircase and made
our way down the long corridor with its vista of whitewashed wall and dun-coloured doors. Near the further end a low
arched passage branched away from it and led to the chemical laboratory.
“不是,鬼知道他到底是学什么的。我们就要到了,你可以自己看看他了。”他说的时候,我们转入了一个狭窄的小巷,穿过一扇小侧门,走到了一所大医院的侧面。医院对我来说很熟悉,根本不用别人带路,我们走上阴冷的石头楼梯,沿着长长的走廊往前走,走廊两边是雪白的墙壁和很多暗褐色的门。走廊尽头有一个低矮的拱形过道,连接着走廊,通往化学实验室。
接着翻译,希望有一天能够翻译这篇小说~~~有些地方感觉不太通,大家多多指教!!
