Don't be a know-it-all 不要假装博学多闻的人
This may seem like contradictory advice since you were hired for your technical abilities, right? But the thing is, even though you might be an ace coder, you can't assume that you know right away the best way to do things in your new company. You're probably going to be working with other IT pros on staff and by jumping in to push your ideas on them, you are indirectly telling them that they didn't know what they were doing until you came along. That's a little insulting and it's not something people respond well too. Even if their department was suffering and you were brought on to improve things, making that clear with unsolicited advice right away is not the best thing to do.
Listen first. Take in your surroundings and absorb the reasons why things have been done the way they have so far. There are a number of reasons that you don't have privy to--legacy applications, budget restraints, etc.--that may have caused what you consider poor decisions. As you're trained or shown around the place, take notes.
Even if you have lots of experience with a particular app or OS and feel it's far superior to what the new company is using, you might not know some of the background that made that their app or OS of choice. Tread carefully.
There's nothing wrong with confidence but people get turned off by arrogance pretty quickly and that could make things tough for you going forward in your company. Show respect for the opinions of others and seek feedback on your ideas before presenting them.
