1. MYTH: Thinner people are healthy, heavier people are not.
第一条:越瘦越健康,肥硕必有病。

You can't tell how healthy someone is just by looking at them. It's totally possible for a thin person to be completely sedentary (or a chain-smoker…or both). And it's also possible that someone who technically has an "overweight" body mass index (BMI) to work out regularly, eat lots of healthy fruits and vegetables, and otherwise follow healthy habits. 

你不可能从外表看出一个人的身体状况。身材苗条的人完全可能是个不爱运动的宅人(或者是个老烟枪,或者两者皆是)。同样,一个理论上在身体体重指数(BMI)里算超重的人,也可能有着定期健身、吃大量健康果蔬等等的好习惯。

2. MYTH: You need to drink eight glasses of water a day.
第二条:你每日需要饮用8杯水。


Nope. OK, yes, you should be drinking water throughout the day, and you'll definitely be healthier if you drink water instead of drinks with a lot of added sugars (like soda, juices, and other sweet drinks). But everyone's hydration needs are a bit different, and the specific number of eight glasses isn't based on any actual research. General rule of thumb about staying hydrated: Drink enough water throughout the day so that your urine is pale yellow. The darker your pee, the more dehydrated you are.

这条也是错的。好吧,在一天中保持饮水没有错,而喝水绝对比喝大量甜味饮料(比如可乐、果汁等等)要健康的多。但是每个人的补水需求是各有不同的,而具体到“8杯”的说法没有任何研究依据。关于补水的一般法则是:每日饮用足量的水使得你的尿液呈浅黄色。你的小便颜色越深,你就越缺水。


3. MYTH: Natural is healthy, and chemicals are bad for you.
第二条:自然的就是健康的,化学的就是有害的。

Cyanide is found in nature, and water is a chemical compound (H2O, anyone?). Don't pay too much attention to buzzwords. Instead, if your goal is to eat healthily, focus on eating more vegetables and fruits, ideally ones that aren't covered in pesticides, as well as other whole foods. Less processing is generally better, because it means you're eating more nutrients per calories. But the occasional processed food is also totally fine as part of a balanced diet. 

氰化物是在大自然中发现的,而水的化学分子式是H2O。别太在意那些一时盛行的说辞。相反,如果你想吃得健康,那就多吃水果蔬菜,最好是那些没有农药残留的,当然也包括其他食品。处理得越少的通常越好,因为这代表每卡路里你摄入的营养更多。但是偶尔食用加工食品来平衡膳食也完全没有问题。
