Dolly the sheep, 人类文明史上光荣的,第一只被克隆的哺乳动物,当然也是第一只复制羊。鉴于她的特殊身份和肩负的科学使命,我们需要谨慎地界定此刻谈论的是哪一只多利。


第一只被克隆的多利生于1996年7月5日,直到1997年登上BBC以及《科学美国人》等大众媒体前,它和其他青少年羊并无二致。被誉为上个世纪最著名的动物,并不值得惊喜;各种关于道德的非议争论,也不让她烦恼。也许最艰难的时刻要算98年第一次产仔(Bonnie),不过她成功了,而且就此迷上了做母亲的感觉;99年产下Sally和Rosie;千禧年又产下Lucy,Darcy和Cotton。


2001年,她从一次关节炎中康复;2003年不幸染上了无法治愈的肺病和关节炎,最终在2003年2月14日被科学家爸妈们施以安乐死(噢诺,我觉得我还可以抢救一下)。


Dolly的一生是光荣的一生,神奇的一生,不谙世事的一生,如果知道真相八成会抓狂的一生。


然而,人类的折腾是无穷尽的——邪恶的科学家们在2010年,再次用与Dolly同源的解冻乳腺细胞克隆了4只小羊,这次各位专(lan3)家(bi1)连名字都不想起了,就直接叫多利四羊组,他们难道不知道四是最不吉利的数字么这帮文盲!
